Photo Friday

Happy Friday!
Christmas Eve is tomorrow!....I have nothing wrapped!  EeeK!

Today was a whole lot of fun!
I got to spend the day in the first grade with Hailey (1/2 day actually since it was early release).
We made gingerbread houses and I called the numbers for a Holiday game of bingo.
I even ate lunch in the school cafeteria...it's been quite a while since I've done that!

Last night (in preparation for the 1st grade party), we made these Oreo Snowman Pops
(as seen on Pinterest).

Jillibean: Merry|Happy - Card

Here's a full reveal of the Happy | Merry card featured on the Jillibean blog yesterday.
Funny, I had this post ready to share on Wednesday - Jillibean contacted me Tuesday evening to say they were going to feature it (along with a bag/tag I made) on their Soup Spotting series the next day.
HoW cOoL is ThAt?

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on kraft and ran white cat's eye over it.
The paper line is Jillibean - "Christmas Eve Chowder".

I used a scallop punch on the floral pattern and used pop dots to raise it.
I wrapped it with twine and added a Jenni Bowlin button.

Soup's on!

A couple of my projects are featured on the Jillibean blog today!
Hop onto this link to sneaky peaky: Soup Spotting!

It's crazy busy here...need to get the last of my Christmas shopping completed - Eeek!
I'm snack Mom for Hailey's 1st grade Christmas party Friday - need to come up with something clever.
Still need to wrap gifts and plan our Christmas Eve meal.
Do you have everything set for the Holidays?

December Daily | Days 2-5

Here's a little more of my December Daily.

Day two we visited our new nephew Bentley at the hospital.
I added banners to the top along with a Maya Road December calendar and stitched haphazardly.
I'm really having fun with the stitching in this book.
I love the glitzy "joy".  This is Making Memories (I believe), it came in a Noel Mignon kit.

The flip side of day two is one of the elements from the Simple Stories "25 Days" line.
I backed two of the journaling cards and stitched them together to make a pocket.
Tucked inside is additional journaling of day 2 - it was a busy day.

Day 3 is the back of the journaling tag from day 2 - mentioned above.
This was a fun documentation of my new Instax camera.
It is adhered with a bit of "Smash" washi tape, a #3 brad and wrapped with some festive twine.

Day 4 - Starbucks Grande Mocha ♥

Day 5 - stockings hung by the chimney with care....
One for Austin, Hailey and Ethan.

Up close.
The journaling is a cute documentation of Hailey's words.
She woke up on Sunday morning thinking St. Nick should have came during the night.
In her disappointment that he had not yet arrived, she requested I "google" to find out when he was coming.  She is hilarious....and yes, we did "google" to check on St. Nick's arrival.

Stop back...I have more to share this week.

December Daily | Day 1

Here's day one of my December Daily.
I really do have much more accomplished, so I promise to share more throughout out the week.

Day 1 of December was a BIG day!
It was both Ethan's First! and his Golden Birthday!

Inside this envelope is a journaling tag detailing his milestones and
a couple additional photos of him enjoying his cake.

I had so many pictures I wanted to add them all, so the best solution was a collage.
Since the photos were a bit colorful for the theme of my December Daily, I went with black & white.
In the upper right-hand corner is a chipboard star with glitter flocking.

I added a Tim Holtz film strip and a My Minds Eye wood veneer banner.
The journaling is printed on vellum - it reads:
"CaKe!  In celebration of your Golden Birthday!"

Check back tomorrow... I'll be sharing more.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The tree is up...we had a dusting of snow....and we went to visit Santa.
That was my weekend, and I'm really getting into the spirit of Christmas now!

Isn't Santa holly and jolly in appearance?  and those rosy red cheeks.
That fuzzy-white beard is the real thing too.

They quick snapped one photo of Ethan crying and squirming off of Santa's lap.
I knew that's how that would go down, but needed to give it a try..... and get the pic.
I'll share that one a bit later.

So, are you ready, all shopped, wrapped and baked?

December Daily | First peek inside

I've really been having a lot of fun with my December Daily!
I'm soaking up all of the inspiration out there from Pinterest and various blogs.

Here's a peek inside my DD:

The intro to the album is a page protector containing the year and filled with some fun Holiday elements.
I also punched paper from my "Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas" line that is used throughout my DD
I saw this on idea first on Lisa Truesdell's blog: http://gluestickgirl.typepad.com/

I took a standard page protector with 4x6 pockets - cut it down to fit my 6x6 album.
Then - the best part.... I stitched it!  This is big, no HUGE for me.  My sewing machine sits in my Studio just taunting me.  I really, really love the look of stitching on projects, but just didn't get that machine - or maybe it didn't get me, hmm?  Well I tackled it one night staying up until the wee hours!
You will see more stitching throughout my DD.  I'm hooked now.

The #2 is a card that came with one of my Noel Mignon kits.  The #0 is a brad and the #11 is one of the sticker elements from "Simple Stories 25 Days"

Check back...I have much more to share.

December Daily | Front & Back

I had a great start on my December Daily, but fell behind in photographing and posting.
Now I have a bit of content to share in the coming days ; )

This is the first year I have attempted a December Daily- but I'm enjoying the process and will likely do it again next year.  I'm finding it a great way to document all the little things that occur during the busy month of December.

I went with a 6x6 size with chipboard front and back covers.
I really liked the traditional feel, colors and elements of Simple Stories - 25 Days of Christmas. - you'll see this line throughout with additional elements that compliment.

For the cover I stitched the month on duck cloth and attached to burlap.
The corrugate tabs are Jillibean along with the red flower.
I used "hardcover" Thickers for Daily - I applied olive cats eye and sanded them a bit.

Happy Together

This little pic I found of a Fujifilm Instax says it all ; )
I ordered my Instax through Amazon and I've been having fun playing with it ever since it arrived!

The photos are a about the size of a business card.
I love the vintage look - and mostly the instant gratification of having the photo to apply to a page or project without the wait of processing.

These little photos will be appearing in my December Daily for sure.

A Bag and a Tag

I'm hosting a challenge over at the MemoryWorks Studio for the month of December:
"A Bag and a Tag"

I used Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas to create this:

I wanted to keep the challenge simple and one that could be created quickly with scraps.
I also added twine, buttons, some ribbons and a Maya Road star pin.
Viola...simple solution to gift giving!

One Big Day!

Happy 1st Birthday Ethan!!!!

Wow, this year has flown by!

Here's what you are up to:
20 lbs 10 oz
Crawling - not the traditional crawl, but your very own version that gets you around
Pulling yourself up on anything and everything
Walking along furniture
Getting up the stairs (need a gate)
Emptying the contents of all cabinets (time for locks)
You love to splish splash in the bath
You have 8 teeth!
If you don't want to eat it, you push it off your high chair onto the floor
You are happy and silly
You are noisy - we always know where you are
You like to cuddle and be held
You are a Mamma's boy (melts my heart)
You don't like your car seat
You like to throw things (and you have a great arm)
You love to be outside
You have stunning blue eyes - like Daddy and Austin
I think you are going to be a comedian like your sister - you love to make us laugh
Absolutely everything goes in your mouth
You wont keep socks on your feet
You wont keep your hat on your head
Your big brother adores you
Your big sister can't get enough of you
You complete our family
We love you ♥
Happy Birthday Sweetie!
